DONNIE DUNAGAN – Imagine being carried off by Frankenstein’s Monster, giving voice to the world’s most famous deer and becoming a highly decorated United States Marine! Donnie Dunagan has done all of these things and more. In 1938, when only four years old, Donnie acted in the movie MOTHER CAREY’S CHICKENS. The next year he played the son of Wolf Von Frankenstein, played by Basil Rathbone, in Universal Pictures’ horror classic SON OF FRANKENSTEIN, which also starred Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. That same year Donnie acted with Rathbone and Karloff in TOWER OF LONDON. To fans of Walt Disney animation, Donnie is best remembered for supplying the voice and basic facial features for the title character in BAMBI. (1942). But Donnie Dunagan had a second career as a US Marine that lasted from 1952-77, serving in Vietnam working in Counter Intelligence, for which he was awarded the prestigious Purple Heart. Donnie Dunagan has many stories to tell, about his careers on screen and as a real-life hero. He lives in Texas, the state where he was born.
